Are electronic signatures legally valid?
Yes, for most documents. Electronic signatures are recognized under the federal ESIGN Act (2000), the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (adopted by 49 states and D.C.), and New York's Electronic Signatures and Records Act. inTrial Manage's eSign captures signer consent and keeps an audit trail with IP addresses, timestamps, and a SHA-256 document fingerprint. Some documents, such as wills, are excluded from these laws.
What devices can clients use to sign?
Clients can sign from any device with a web browser, including iPhone, Android, iPad, laptop, or desktop. No app download or account creation is required. They receive a link by email or text message, open it, review the document, draw or type their signature, and submit. Text message links require your firm's texting setup; email always works.
Can I customize my document templates?
Yes. Upload a PDF as a template base, then place signature, initials, date, text, checkbox, and printed name fields. Assign fields to specific signers for multi-party documents. Templates are saved and reusable: build once, send to every new client.
Does eSign send reminders?
Reminders are sent when you ask for them. Click Send Reminder on an envelope and each signer who has not signed receives an email and a text message.
Where are signed documents stored?
Signed documents are filed to the case's E-signed Documents folder. The signed PDF is bundled with its audit certificate. Documents are encrypted at rest.
