eFax

Send and receive faxes — sorted by AI, matched to cases.

Courts, medical providers, and insurance adjusters still live in the fax era. inTrial eliminates the clunky hardware and standalone fax subscriptions by building faxing directly into your case management workflow. Incoming faxes are automatically read by AI, matched to the right case, and filed in your case drive — no human sorting required.

Included in your subscription. Standalone tools charge $25–45/user/month for standalone fax services.

Frequently asked questions

How does faxing work in inTrial?
Outbound faxes are sent directly from your case drive — select a document, enter the recipient fax number, and hit send. A cover page is auto-generated. Inbound faxes arrive at your firm's dedicated fax number, and AI automatically reads the content, matches it to the correct case, and files it in the appropriate case drive folder. You can also send faxes to any number nationwide.
Do we get a dedicated fax number?
Yes. Each firm gets a dedicated fax number that you can use on letterheads, court filings, and provider correspondence. Additional numbers can be provisioned for specific offices or departments if needed.
How accurate is the AI case matching?
AI matching accuracy is typically above 95% for faxes that contain identifiable case information like client names, case numbers, or claim IDs. When AI cannot confidently match a fax, it routes to your review queue for manual assignment — nothing gets lost or misfiled.
Is eFax HIPAA compliant?
Yes. All fax transmissions are encrypted in transit and at rest. Documents are stored in HIPAA-compliant infrastructure with access controls, audit logging, and retention policies. inTrial signs Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) with firms that require them.
Are there volume limits on faxing?
Your inTrial subscription includes a generous monthly fax page allocation that covers normal firm usage. High-volume firms that send or receive thousands of pages per month can purchase additional capacity. There are no surprise per-page fees for standard usage.
